Porcellio sp. 'Sevilla' comes from the Seville region of Spain and is one of the more impressive Porcellio in the hobby. Adults grow large, with smooth, deep charcoal-to-black shells and pale edges that give them an armoured, prehistoric look. Coming from a warm, Mediterranean climate, they like a drier, well-ventilated setup with a humid retreat. They breed more slowly than common species, which is why cultures are limited, but a settled group rewards patient keepers with big, confident isopods that roam the surface in full view.
Use a well-ventilated tub with coco peat, crushed chalk or limestone, leaf litter and cork bark. Keep most of the enclosure dry, with one damp corner or a moss-filled hide. Feed leaf litter and rotting wood, plus protein (fish flakes, dried shrimp) twice a week, and keep cuttlebone available. Stagnant, wet conditions and summer heat are the main risks, so keep the culture in a cool, shaded room.

Acclimation Tips on Arrival
- Open the box as soon as it arrives and keep it out of direct sun.
- Gently tip the moss and isopods into their enclosure; do not pick them out one by one.
- Mist one corner, offer leaf litter and a small piece of vegetable, and leave them undisturbed for 48 hours.
- Some stress losses in the first week are normal for any live shipment; a stable, lightly humid setup keeps them to a minimum.
