A large, dark Spanish isopod covered in bright yellow dots. Up to 2 cm in body length (over 3 cm with tail spikes), and one of the most striking Porcellio in the hobby.
- Bright yellow-dotted pattern
- Large: 2 cm body, 3 cm+ with tail spikes
- Long-lived (2–3 years)
Porcellio haasi 'High Yellow' comes from the dry, mountainous Zaragoza area of north-eastern Spain. Its dark shell is covered in a natural pattern of bright yellow dots, set off by long tail spikes that bring its total length past 3 cm. It needs a drier setup with good airflow and cannot tolerate high humidity. Mature at 4–6 months and living 2–3 years, it breeds reliably and seasonally once established.
Ventilated enclosure with only about one fifth of the substrate moist (moss, bark and decaying leaves on that side) and the rest dry. Feed fruit, vegetables, protein twice a week and constant calcium. Never let the enclosure turn stuffy or wet; in monsoon months, increase ventilation.

Shipping & Live-Arrival Guarantee
We ship Monday to Wednesday only, so your isopods never sit in a courier hub over the weekend. During peak summer (April to June) we may hold orders for a cooler shipping window and will message you on WhatsApp before dispatch. Every order is covered by our live-arrival guarantee: if any isopods arrive dead, send an unboxing video within 2 hours of delivery and we will replace them or refund you for those pieces.
Acclimation Tips on Arrival
- Open the box as soon as it arrives and keep it out of direct sun.
- Gently tip the moss and isopods into their enclosure; do not pick them out one by one.
- Mist one corner, offer leaf litter and a small piece of vegetable, and leave them undisturbed for 48 hours.
- Some stress losses in the first week are normal for any live shipment; a stable, lightly humid setup keeps them to a minimum.
