A cookies-and-cream isopod: white bodies broken up with dark, crumbly patches. Fast, hardy and one of the quickest breeders in the hobby.
- Unique black-and-white "cookies and cream" pattern
- Handles warm Indian room temperatures well
- Very fast breeder, quick to establish in a new enclosure
- Excellent cleanup crew and feeder isopod
Oreo Crumbles are a patterned morph of the powder isopod, named for their black-and-white "cookie crumb" markings. Each one carries a different mix of dark and pale patches, so a colony looks like a scattering of broken cookies. Powder isopods are small, quick runners that breed very fast and tolerate warm temperatures well. That makes Oreo Crumbles an easy, high-output culture for cleanup work in bioactive enclosures and for feeding small reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates.
Keep in a ventilated tub with coco peat, leaf litter and bark flats. Keep about half the substrate moist and the other half drier. Feed leaf litter as a staple, plus vegetables and a protein source (fish flakes, dried shrimp) twice a week. Provide cuttlebone for calcium. Their small size means they can escape through gaps, so use a lid with fine mesh vents.
Less common than standard Armadillidium morphs — give a new colony time before harvesting.

Shipping & Live-Arrival Guarantee
We ship Monday to Wednesday only, so your isopods never sit in a courier hub over the weekend. During peak summer (April to June) we may hold orders for a cooler shipping window and will message you on WhatsApp before dispatch. Every order is covered by our live-arrival guarantee: if any isopods arrive dead, send an unboxing video within 2 hours of delivery and we will replace them or refund you for those pieces.
Acclimation Tips on Arrival
- Open the box as soon as it arrives and keep it out of direct sun.
- Gently tip the moss and isopods into their enclosure; do not pick them out one by one.
- Mist one corner, offer leaf litter and a small piece of vegetable, and leave them undisturbed for 48 hours.
- Some stress losses in the first week are normal for any live shipment; a stable, lightly humid setup keeps them to a minimum.
