Fine, moss-like spikemoss that carpets terrarium floors beautifully.
Selaginella kraussiana, or spikemoss, forms a delicate, moss-like carpet that thrives in the constant humidity of closed terrariums, adding fine texture to the substrate layer.
Care level: Intermediate. Maintain stable humidity and temperature appropriate for this species, provide adequate leaf litter/cover, and avoid sudden environmental swings.
Unlike true mosses, it browns quickly if the substrate ever fully dries — best suited to closed, stable terrariums.
